Dorian (“Dory”) Bass Taibel has represented a broad range of businesses, large and small, in all facets of employment law. She represents employers in litigation in federal and state court, and in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Texas Workforce Commission. In addition to litigation, Ms. Taibel’s practice also includes working with employers to draft employment policies and employee handbooks and to address issues related to the hiring, retention and firing of employees.

Representative Experience

  • Obtained several summary judgments involving a variety of discrimination and retaliation claims in state and federal court.
  • Successfully represented both large and small employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, obtaining dismissal of numerous employee charges of discrimination.
  • Handles all aspects of employment litigation, including, but not limited to, representing clients at hearings; preparing motions and briefs; taking and defending depositions; preparing witnesses for deposition; drafting and responding to all forms of discovery; and negotiating settlement terms.
  • Assists with handling workplace investigations involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, and other workplace conduct.
  • Provides legal advice to employers with respect to various aspects of the employment relationship and to ensure compliance with Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and other federal and state laws.
  • Drafts and revises employee handbooks, required postings, and other materials.
  • Represents employers before the Texas Workforce Commission in claims for unemployment compensation.
